TÖMTOM FAIT SON CINEMA

Tue Jun 21, 2022
Expired!

TÖMTOM is an encounter between Marine Thommerel and Manuel Larrouy, two modern French pop singer-songwriters. TÖMTOM defends the romantic position of French singing, what counts for them is to be part of a story and tell it in music. It is a poetic and soulful band, a singular and powerful duo.

This year, they are embarking on a new tour, with a new sound and even stronger concept: a mix of their compositions and adaptations of songs written for French cinema. This new tour announces the release of their first EP, “Chamaille”.

For their new show, TÖMTOM has upgraded not just their sound, but their image. Synchronized with a screen, the duo adapts songs created for French cinema. There are classics like “Un homme et une femme” by Francis Lai, composed for the film by Claude Lelouch; “Les Demoiselles de Rochefort” by Michel Legrand for Jacques Demy; “Le tourbillon de la vie” by Serge Rezvani for Jules et Jim, directed by François Truffaut; and even “La chanson d’Helene” by Philippe Sarde for “Les choses de la vie” by Claude Sautet. But also  “L’eau à la bouche” by Serge Gainsbourg, composed for Jacques Doniol-Valcroze and more contemporary titles like “Nuit d’ivresse” by Les Ritas Mitsouko composed for Bernard Nauer.
