Nestled within Sofitel City Centre, Racines has long been celebrated for its seamless blend of French elegance and Asian flavors. Last week, we had the pleasure of indulging in their newly launched menu, a gastronomic experience that masterfully showcases the best of both worlds.
Our culinary journey began with the Twin Starters, featuring a luscious Five Spice Foie Gras Pâté and a perfectly Pan-Roasted Duck Foie Gras. The richness of the foie gras, enhanced by the subtle warmth of five-spice, was beautifully complemented by the crisp texture of accompanying elements. This was followed by the Racines Lobster Bisque, a velvety, deeply flavorful broth that captured the essence of the sea with every spoonful.
Next came the Twin Catch, presenting a delicate balance between land and sea. The Soy-Baked Black Cod was tender and infused with a gentle umami depth, while the Pan-Seared Salmon boasted a crispy skin and melt-in-the-mouth interior. Each bite was a testament to the precision and finesse of Racines’ culinary craftsmanship.
For the mains, the Poultry Duo showcased two unique takes on chicken. The Salt-Baked Pineapple Yellow Chicken Leg exuded a smoky, subtly sweet aroma, while the Pineapple-Fed Yellow Chicken Supreme was incredibly succulent and juicy. The integration of pineapple lent a gentle sweetness that elevated the dish beyond expectations.
The lunch concluded on a high note with the Dessert Trio, featuring a unique Cempedak Crème Brûlée, a classic yet refined Apple Tartin, and the ever-popular Ondeh Ondeh. The crème brûlée was a delightful surprise, infused with the tropical essence of cempedak, while the tartin and ondeh ondeh provided a comforting yet sophisticated end to our meal.
